Dr. Cheuvront
A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Cheuvront earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology at the Clarion University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pittsburgh. In April of 1989, he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Illinois. While at the National University of Health Sciences, Dr. Cheuvront was a member of the Delta Tau Alpha Honor’s Society from 1986-1989 and received their Outstanding Senior Award upon graduation in 1989. He is a member of the American Chiropractic Association and the North Carolina Chiropractic Association. Dr. Cheuvront received his Board Certification as a Chiropractic Sports Physician from the New York Chiropractic College in 1998. He also received his certification in the Active Release Technique in 1997. Since 1997, Dr. Cheuvront has received more than a thousand referrals from local Charlotte and Matthews medical physicians. Dr. Cheuvront has a long history of working with and co-managing difficult cases and communicating with local spine physicians if the situation warrants. Dr. Cheuvront is a preferred in-network provider with all major insurance plans including Blue Cross and Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Cigna, Aetna, Medcost, Bright Health, and Medicare.
Dr. Cheuvront has been improving the quality of patient’s lives for more than 30 years. Upon graduating from the prestigious National University of Health Sciences in 1989, Dr. Cheuvront opened his first practice in Canandaigua, New York and practiced there until 1996. He then moved his family to the Charlotte region and opened the Cheuvront Clinic of Chiropractic and Sports Medicine in April of 1997 in the beautiful town of Matthews, North Carolina.
Dr. Cheuvront and his wife Lori have three grown children, Joshua, Rachel and Ryan as well as two grandchildren, Bridget and Caroline. Dr. Cheuvront has been a member of the Matthews Chamber of Commerce for over 25 years and served as a board member from 2012-2016 and as the Chamber President in 2014. He has been an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Matthews for over 25 years and served as their President in 2015. Dr. Cheuvront served as the fund raising chairman and golf tournament chairman for the Kiwanis Club of Matthews for the past 7 years. Dr. Cheuvront was the Chairman of Deacons at Hickory Grove Baptist Church in 2004. He is the former President of the Hickory Grove Christian School’s booster club and served as a member of their school board for 10 years. Dr. Cheuvront served on the Board of Directors for the Matthews HELP Center from 2012-2015 and was the head of the HELP Center’s annual golf tournament committee. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Matthews Free Medical Clinic from 2016-2020. Dr. Cheuvront has been a member of the North Carolina Chiropractic Association’s Board of Directors since 2015 and is currently the Board’s Secretary. In addition, Dr. Cheuvront was the recipient of the 2023 “Doctor of the Year Award” for the state of North Carolina as presented by the North Carolina Chiropractic Association.
